In collaboration with residents and Whimple Parish Council, I’m pleased to share that a new Whimple Community Speed Watch initiative is in the works.

This is in direct response to feedback from residents regarding unsafe driving along Church Road and School Hill.

We’re currently looking for volunteers to be part fo the Speed Watch. This will involve some initial online training from Devon & Cornwall Police, followed by hands-on training with the speed watch kit – and then subsequently speed watch ‘shifts’ arranged by the group.

Depending on volunteer support, there is also the possibility of expansion to other problem spots, such as Broadclyst Road and the old A30 at Hand & Pen.
